In the same year, the Messenger (peace be upon him) married Zeinab bint Khuzaimah, Mother of the Poor (may Allah be pleased with her). Ibn Hajar (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned that Zeinab bint Khuzaimah was the wife of Abdullah ibn Jahsh, although some reports state she was married to At-Tafeel ibn Al-Harith and then his brother Ubaydah ibn Al-Harith. Her husband was killed, and the Messenger (peace be upon him) became engaged to her and married her in Ramadan in the 3rd year of Hijrah.
However, she only lived two or three months after this. It is also reported that she lived 8 months. She was called the Mother of the Poor as she used to feed them and give charity to them [Al-Isabah]. It is clear that the Messenger of Allah married Zeinab bint Khuzaimah to relieve the difficulties she experienced and to support her after her husband was martyred.
