The death of Prophet Muhammad's mother when he was 6 years old

Helima could not stop thinking about how Prophet Muhammed’s chest was split open, and therefore she began to fear for Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him). Consequently, she returned Prophet Muhammed to his mother. Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) stayed with his mother until he was six years old.

Ameena wanted to visit her husband’s grave in Yathrib; she left Mecca with her young orphaned boy, her maid Um Ayman and Prophet Muhammed’s grandfather Abdul-Muttalib. They stayed in Yathrib for one month and then returned towards Mecca.

Soon after they had started on their return journey, Helima became ill. The illness became worse until she died at a place between Mecca and Medina. As a result, Prophet Muhammed, may the peace and prayers of the Lord be upon him, became a double orphan, without either a father or mother.
