In the month of Dhul-Qadah in this year, the Messenger (peace be upon him) started to perform Umrah from Al-Jiranah. Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported this to us by saying, “The Messenger (peace be upon him) performed four Umrahs, all of them in the month of Dhul-Qadah, except the Umrah he performed with his Hajj. The Messenger (peace be upon him) performed Umrah from Hudaybiyah during Dhul-Qadah, he performed Umrah the following year in Dhul-Qadah, he performed Umrah in Al-Jiranah in Dhul-Qadah after he had distributed the spoils of the Battle of Hunayn, and he performed Umrah at the time he performed his Hajj” [related by Al-Bukhari and Muslim] [See: The Beginning and the End by Ibn Katheer].
