Prophet Muhammad's marriage to Aisha in 10 BH

In the month of Shawwal of the same year, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) wrote a contract of marriage with Aisha, the daughter of Abu Bakr, the truthful one. She was six years old at the time. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did not consummate the marriage until the first year after immigrating to Medinah, after she reached puberty at the age of nine.

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, “The Messenger of Allah married me when I was six years old. Then we travelled to Medinah and stayed with Banu Al-Harith ibn Khazraj...My mother, Um Ruman, came to me, and then she gave me to the Messenger of Allah. I was nine years old at the time” [related by Al-Bukhari].

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) married Aisha because of a revelation from Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to Aisha, [related by Al-Bukhari].
